Beauty // Clean Skincare to Try in 2020

Beauty, Health and Wellness, Misc, Style + Beauty / Friday, April 24th, 2020

As 30-something I’m always on the lookout for products to help push off the signs of Father Time and keep my face looking and feeling as youthful as possible. As a Mom, I’m actively working toward cleaning up the products we use in our home as a whole, which absolutely includes the products I use on my face and skin.

On a mission to find products that can pull double duty – performance and cleanliness *formulated without parabens, sulfates, phthalates, and artificial fragrances, I’ve spent the past few months testing products to see if it’s possible to have the best of both worlds. Spoiler Alert: It is!

As I continue to progress through my quest, I’m sharing all the products I’m loving based on performance and natural ingredients.

I was provided complementary product in exchange for honest reviews.  All opinions expressed are mine, and 100% authentic as always!

CocoKind

Favorite Products: Moisture stick, Chlorophyll Mask

Clean, conscious, and accessible beauty for all, is the mission behind Cocokind products. As a a self-funded, women-led, mission-driven company (#bossbabe alert!!), Cocokind is a skincare and beauty company centered around superfoods like virgin coconut oil, chia seed oil, and spirulina. Their chic packaging draws you in, but the all-natural ingredients and powerful benefits show it’s really what’s on the inside that counts!

With ease of use, and great results in mind, one of my favorite products I tested was the Cocokind Baby Moisture Stick. Right now, we’re all washing our hands like crazy (toddlers especially!) and this stick has been so easy to moisturize tiny wiggly hands in a flash. My youngest has always had dry cheeks, so I use this on her sweet little face as well – and it works like a charm! When we’re able to get back to our regularly scheduled travels, this is going to be a great product to toss in the diaper bag for moisturizing on the go…for all of us!

I also quickly fell in love with the cocokind chlorophyll mask, and it’s definitely my go-to detox mask when I’m able to hop in the bath for a little self-care. Ok, so I don’t love the smell (it’s very chlorophyll-y…but it also could be the spirulina!) but that’s the only thing I didn’t absolutely love about this mask. It holds true to it’s claims, “purifies, boosts complexion, and visibly de-puffs and soothes” and as a powder it’s totally customizable and can be mixed with not only water, but yogurt, milk, or facial oils to stack on the benefits and give your skin what it really needs.

Products I Tested: glow essence with sea grape caviar, matcha face moisturizer, chlorophyll mask, chia facial oil, one-for-all balm, resurfacing sleep mask, and baby gift set (baby oil, baby moisture stick, and baby soothing salve)

Earth Harbor

Favorite Product: Sunshine Dew Antioxidant Cleansing Oil

Right off the jump I was impressed with the skincare quiz, matching me with the perfect products based on my answers. I love details like this, since I am absolutely targeting certain things, and I really enjoyed that the company took the time to create this quiz and formulate an algorithm to help me select products that would help target my need-areas. When the products arrived, I was again impressed – falling in love with the simple chic packaging, and just as I had hoped – loving the products too!

I’ve never been one for oil cleansers since I usually wash my face in the shower, and gels have been my typical go-to for as long as I can remember. When I gave Sunshine Dew a go, I loved that it pulled double duty – cleansing while also removing my makeup, but also that I didn’t have any oily residue on my face post-rinse. It smells like actual sunshine, and I felt like my face had a true clean post-wash. I’m already so excited to try more from this brand (I’ve got my eye on the Aqua Aura Reparative Eye Creme!)

Products I tested: SUNSHINE DEW Antioxidant Cleansing Oil and HELIOS Anti-Pollution Youth Ampoule *edited to add, I made a second order at my own cost, and purchased the Citrine Sea Exfoliator and Beach Waves hair texturizer. Spoiler alert: LOVE!!!

MyChelle

Favorite Product: Remarkable Retinal Eye Cream, and All of the *Ageless* Collection!

I was actually shocked at how amazing my clean skin looked and felt after just a few routines with the MyChelle products I tested. The eye cream is am easy choice as a top product because of the serious power-punch of magic it graced my wrinkly little lines. A little goes a long way with this guy, and I’m so here for it’s laugh line reducing effects!

The G2 Instant Firming Serum and Supreme Polypeptide Cream (both part of the Ageless line) are literal wrinkle saviors! I’m so excited to continue using these products together and push the Botox can down the road as long as I can! Anything that actually works to keep me young (and has clean ingredients to boot!) I’m totally here for!

Products I Tested: Perfect C™ PRO Lotion, Supreme Polypeptide Cream, G2 Instant Firming Serum, Remarkable Retinal™ Eye Cream

Indie Lee

Favorite Product: Brightening Cleanser, Radiance Renewal Peel

I love that Indie Lee shares information about the natural ingredients they use in their products. Find that information HERE.

If you are a fan of delicious smelling (but clean!) products, you absolutely must try Indie Lee’s Brightening Cleanser! In all honesty, I don’t think I’ve ever used a better smelling product! The fresh fruit scent is just the beginning, as this gel cleanser packs a powerful clean punch with no icky residue. Indie Lee’s Brightening Cleanser is definitely my new go-to morning shower face wash!

The Radiance Renewal Peel was an item that peeked my interest from the get-go, as the reviews were *glowing*. The product comes in little pre-soaked pads that are easy to use and swipe across a clean face. Another product that I swear I saw results with after just a few uses!

Honorable Mention: The Daily Skin Nutrition, a reparative cream, feels like an actual vitamin for my skin. I loved putting this on after a cleanse, mask, and tone, and letting this little guy condition my skin as I sleep!

Products I Tested: Discovery Kit (Brightening Cleanser, COQ-10 Toner, Squalane Facial Oil), Radiance Renewal Peel, Daily Skin Nutrition

  1. […] Start a Skincare Routine // Ever since I started a morning and evening skincare routine (and stuck to it!) it’s been something I’ve looked forward to doing. It may sound silly, but I love going through the motions of each step (makeup-removing/cleansing, toning, serum-ing (?), and moisturizing). I recently cleaned up my skincare routine and incorporated some new products from some amazing small businesses. Read More About Clean Skincare To Try in 2020 […]

  2. […] Begin a Skincare Routine // Ever since I began a morning and night skincare routine (and caught to it!) it’s been one thing I’ve regarded ahead to doing. It could sound foolish, however I really like going by means of the motions of every step (makeup-removing/cleaning, firming, serum-ing (?), and moisturizing).
